Ms. Sheezan Yousuf
Who is she?
You're probably wondering who she is. Well, Ms. Sheezan Yousuf is my English teacher who helped me get into writing. I wanted to dedicate my first blog to her, for she has helped me with my writing.
It all started back when it was the second day of school, and she asked the whole class to write a character sketch of one of the characters from The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle, one of the many short stories penned by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I, being the basic person I am, chose to write about Sherlock Holmes.
Her exact reaction, upon reading my work, was: "Wow!" She told me that my writing was spectacular, and I, being stupid, just blushed and moved on with my life, not really thinking about writing. It wasn't until she kept on praising my writing that I realised my writing was actually good.
Had it not been for her, my debut novel wouldn't be coming out in October of this year (2025). Hence, I think that we need more and more teachers like her, sweet and caring, for students to be able to realise what they love and not just what society wants them to love.
